The Body and Imagination

As an actor, you will better understand this association of the body and your imagination each time you try to maintain the reality of an imagined object when acting.

In all the sheer fun of working the imagination, don’t forget the automatic self-learning mechanism—the Actor’s Catechism. So here it is again, ask yourself:

  • What am I doing when I allow an object to transform?
  • How am I doing this?
  • What psychological state of being makes it possible for me to do this?
  • If the exercise doesn’t seem to be working, what’s missing?
  • What do I have to change internally—in my mind and/or body—in order to make this thing work?
